Balance your life, balance your nervous system

Pain is the nervous system’s reaction to perceived threat. When pain persists, the nervous system can become sensitive, and it can raise the alarm even when there isn't danger. There are many possible triggers, including stress, temperature, illness, memories, anxiety, mood, emotions, smells, sights, sounds, tastes, etc. When the alarm goes off frequently, it is hard to ignore, and this naturally increases the fear and stress around the pain.

To reduce pain, you need to decrease the sensitivity of the nervous system.

Since the nervous system is triggered by lifestyle factors, like not getting enough sleep, being overscheduled, and having high levels of stress, if you balance your life, you will balance your nervous system.

Tissues heal. Sometimes pain persists.

Persistent pain that lasts after the tissue has healed means the nervous system needs to heal.

I’m an integrative physical therapist and pain specialist who guides people to become their own best healers.

  • If you have pain that won’t go away…

  • If you have been to other providers and haven’t found a real explanation or a solution that works…

It’s time to address the root causes, not just the symptoms.
