Spring Yoga for Life:
The Power of the Heart
In its purest form, power simply means “potential.” The word power comes from the Latin word potēre, which means “to be able.”
When we feel powerless, it means that we can no longer envision the possibilities, and we have lost the belief that our actions will make a difference. That sounds a lot like nervous system shutdown, which is a protective response to fear and danger.
Reclaiming our power involves supporting our nervous systems so that we are capable of resiliently riding the waves of life with an open heart. This requires taking time to recharge, and allowing ourselves to FEEL so that we can fully metabolize our experiences without walling off the heart.
If you have been feeling powerless;
If your heart is breaking for the world;
If you are exhausted and depleted;
If you want to explore strategies for resilience so that you can keep your heart open and continue to show up;
Join the spring Yoga for Life Series.
From March 22nd to May 18th, we will be focused on cultivating THE POWER OF THE HEART.
We will be reading a beautiful book together called The Wild Edge of Sorrow: Rituals of Renewal and the Sacred Work of Grief by Francis Weller to guide us through the process of healing and recharging the heart.
Spring is the perfect time to be doing this kind of heart work because nature is in the process of tending and growing. Let's plant the seeds of potential and renew our ability to hold our suffering with an open heart.

Radiance
Summer is a time when nature blooms in all its glory. As humans, we can follow nature's lead by allowing our true nature to expand and shine, but we must also nurture our radiance so that we can sustain our energy through the growing season. When the fire element is balanced, it illuminates our path and ignites our inspiration and focus. During this summer session, we will work on keeping the flame of the fire element balanced and radiant through cooling, spacious, fire-balancing qigong and yoga practices.
Summer Yoga for Life
Yoga is more than just a practice; it's a transformative approach to living well. In today's fast-paced world, many individuals find themselves feeling overwhelmed and disconnected from their bodies, from each other, and from nature. Yoga provides the tools to cultivate mindfulness, enhance health, foster emotional resilience, and build a more peaceful and loving world.
Love Notes
Yoga that enhances your lifeforce
My classes are designed to harmonize energy so you leave feeling grounded and refreshed.
The practices change with the seasons because the qualities in nature change seasonally, which affects the way we feel. Have you ever noticed that you feel a little stuck in the spring, or less patient in the summer?
Energetic balance is based on the Ayurvedic principle of harmony which says that in order to find balance we have to understand which qualities are elevated and use the opposite qualities to come back to center.
My classes begin with inquiry. What are the qualities of the environment? Which of those qualities are manifesting in you? Do you feel hot or cold? Steady or spacey? Is your energy flowing or are you stuck?
Curious? Yoga is meant to be learned through direct experience. Come try out a class and see for yourself!
Classes that are aligned with nature
What I teach changes seasonally, but more importantly HOW I teach changes seasonally, and there is a reason behind every choice I make in a practice.
In any season, the intention is to enhance your life force so that you feel vibrant and your gifts shine. It is pretty amazing to witness the energetic shifts in people after these kinds of practices!
In the summer, practices are cooling and spacious to balance the fire element abundant in nature which can make us feel overheated and spicy. Practices circulate energy without fanning the flames of the fire.
Summer
Fall & Winter
In the fall and winter, the environment is cold, dry, rough, and windy. That can lead to dry skin, anxiety, constipation, and joint pain. Practices are grounding and warming to balance the wind and space elements that govern the season.
Spring
Springtime is mud season, and we can feel dull, stuck, and heavy when water mixes with earth. Practices support balance by creating strong energetic boundaries and then getting the energy to flow so we don’t feel stuck in the mud.
