Summer Solstice & Full Moon Ritual

Summer Solstice & Full Moon Ritual June 21st

The summer solstice aligns with a full moon this year, which makes it a potent time for reflection and for connecting with our inner light and wisdom.

The Solstice is a magical time when the Sun appears to stand still, and the forces of light and dark are in balance. This turning point is an opportunity to pause, celebrate the magic of life, compost the past to support new growth, and affirm our highest purpose.

At the root of all transformation is fire. Fire gives light, which illuminates our path and provides clarity. A full moon occurs when the sun and moon are in opposition, and the moon reflects the sun's light. This allows us to see what is often obscured in the shadows, and to access deeper inner wisdom.

This particular full moon, according to Vedic astrology, is in the Mula nakshatra, which means root. The Mula nakshatra is associated with getting to the root of things, which can lead to finding the root causes of an issue. In that process, there can be transformation, and sometimes transformation involves letting something end so a new beginning is possible. (Sidenote: If you've been holding off on investigating something that is challenging you, including something like a stubborn or mysterious pain, now would be a good time to really get to the root of what is going on.)

Celebrate the summer solstice with a Fire Ceremony and Full Moon Ritual to ground the cosmic intelligence in your body and uplift your spirit so that you can move into the next phase of this year with clarity and confidence. This practice will include mantra, meditation, journaling, offerings to the fire, reflection, community connection, and treats!

Please bring a journal, pen, and camp chair. If you have anything you want to symbolically release, you are welcome to bring offerings to the fire.
